  • The 77 gallon drums are useful for many things including being used for the storage of non-consumption water. Water stored in 77 gallon drums should not be used for human or animal consumption.

As long as you're you are using new containers and not reconditioned containers, human consumption is acceptable for irrigation and gardening. Reconditioned containers should never be used for water storage of any type.

  • A 77 gallon drum can easily be used to add your compost material.

A 77 gallon barrel is ideal for storing compost as it is typically air and liquid tight and can be used to contain odors and also be used to roll, rotate, and mix the contents inside. The lid on the drum will help keep smells intact and animals out of the compost. Encore’s 77 gallon container for rain collection and gardening is called “rainpack.”

  • We do not recommend utilizing used or second-hand containers as they may have traces of hazardous materials due to whatever was initially stored in them.
